Spiritual discipline is the most practical thing you can do. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Without humility, you’ll never have understanding. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
A life filled with worldly attachments is the cause of suffering. Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
Only those who have annihilated their ego will see God. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Those who’ve seen God will strive to heal this broken world. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Wisdom will protect you against the folly and illusion of this world. Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.
Love your neighbour as yourself because they are you. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.
Till next week,
Peace!
